Vanessa Feltz’s new TV show flops with disastrous ratings and viewer complaints about gaudy set

Vanessa Feltz’s much hyped new daytime TV show failed to attract viewers as barely any tuned in for its launch show.

The new chat show launched yesterday (Monday) on Channel 5 after Vanessa left This Morning after 33 years for her new gig.

But the new programme wasn’t as successful as bosses had hoped as figures revealed only 83,000 people tuned in for the midday show.

In comparison, 154,000 watched Storm Huntley, which was on just before Vanessa, and 157,000 watched Home and Away straight afterwards.

One of her guests, Helen Flanagan, 34, was even dressed in a pink bodycon dress.

One viewer asked: ‘Has Mr Blobby furnished the set?’.

‘Did the sofas come from Barbara Cartland’s old place?,’ asked another referring to the late author who only ever wore pink.

One said they were ‘surprised the programme came back after the first ad-break’.

Another viewer quipped: ‘Looks like Barbie’s met Babestation’.

Titled Vanessa, the programme sees the presenter joined by a range of celebrity guests and welcomes fans to call in to share their opinions on any topics discussed.

‘It turns out we actually have a spoon here which I’m going to send to you and you can personally scoop out your eyes with it, James,’ Vanessa joked back.

‘We’re going to post it to you right now.’

She promised her new show ‘is going to be the place where an honest chat about relationships, parenting, grandparenting, love, sex, if you’re lucky enough to have any, health, fitness and friendship.’

The presenter dated former Phats & Small singer Ben Ofoedu, 52, for 16 years, until reports of Ben’s infidelity were leaked to the press in 2023.

It was thought she had been single since then but the star revealed last week she had a clandestine five-month romance last year.

Prior to her relationship with Ben, Vanessa was married to ex-husband Michael from 1983 until they divorced in 2000. They share daughters Allegra, 38, and Saskia, 35.

She told Entertainment Daily: ‘I was going out with someone last year that nobody found out about, that was quite good for about four and a half to five months – but with the exception of that, I’ve been on my own the whole tim
