BREAKING NEWS !! Yellowstone spin-off undergoes major last-minute change just weeks before premiere

The next highly anticipated spin-off from Yellowstone has made a major adjustment just weeks before it’s set to premiere its first episode.

Set after the death of Kayce’s father, ranching tycoon and Montana governor John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner), the follow-up sees him joining an elite group of US Marshals.

Drawing on his skills as both a former Navy SEAL and a formidable cowboy, he’ll help the crack team of enforcers deliver range justice across the state.

However, the synopsis warns, “[Kayce] and his teammates must balance family, duty, and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
Yellowstone's Most Anticipated Spinoff Has To Avoid Making This Massive Mistake

As millions of fans await Grimes’ return to screens, the spin-off has made an adjustment before the premiere and will now simply be titled Marshals.

TV Insider reported the change this week, which is understood to be a decision made by CBS.

Despite the tweak, the ‘Y’ branding will still be present in the show’s logo, keeping the offshoot’s connection to the Yellowstone franchise intact.

It also mirrors a similar change to the 2021 prequel 1883, which was originally known as Y: 1883 during production.

A teaser trailer for the drama has confirmed Brecken Merrill will be returning as Kayce’s son, Tate, as well as Gil Birmingham as his father’s former rival, Thomas Rainwater.

Other cast members include Mo Brings Plenty as Rainwater’s right-hand man, Mo, plus newcomers Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner, Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz, Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle and Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin.

The West Wing icon Brett Cullen will be making recurring appearances as a character named Harry Gifford.
