Unaired scenes from Emmerdale, currently streaming on ITVX, reveal a chilling new power shift in the village as Joe Tate gains control through blackmail following a deadly chain of events linked to the Corydale crossover.
The drama begins when Robert Sugden, in a fragile state, asks Joe to help locate Aaron Dingle. Aaron is intent on forcing Jon Sugden to drive to the police station and confess. Instead, Jon deliberately lets go of the steering wheel, daring Aaron to experience what it feels like to control someone’s life. The reckless act ends in a devastating crash with a car driven by the Swaines from Coronation Street, permanently linking both communities.

After being knocked unconscious by the minibus explosion, Joe later stumbles into the woods and witnesses a confrontation between Victoria Sugden and Jon.
