Cast member Elle Chapman confirmed the news on Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 20, sharing a story from set with the caption:
“And that’s a wrap on season 2. Heart is full.”
And that short and sweet message marked the end of a second production cycle that mirrors the show’s unusually efficient rollout so far. Although, that said, unlike many “prestige” series these days, Sheridan’s series usually see one season per year in the mold of network television so perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised by this one. At this point, the takeaway is pretty clear: Paramount (and Sheridan himself) have serious confidence in The Madison. Wrapping two seasons before a single episode airs suggests this isn’t an experimental spin-off.
The official logline for The Madison describes the spin-off as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana”.
Who Stars in ‘The Madison’?
The cast already includes Danielle Vasinova, Ben Schnetzer(rumored by fans to be this series’ “Rip Wheeler” archetype), Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and Chapman. Schnetzer plays a rancher; Chapman and Garrett portray Pfeiffer’s daughters — the entitled Paige McIntosh and the dry-witted, newly divorced Abigail Reese. Meanwhile, Adams plays Paige’s investment-banker husband, while Russell’s role is currently undisclosed.
